Note: Since it has been several weeks since I
posted here, I thought it was time to let those who come here that I am still
alive. My time away is not being wasted
(to get an idea what I have been up to, please see my previous post). While I have more to study on the Holy Spirit
than I should at this point; time is not being wasted as I work towards less
clutter and better organization (there may be a post or series on this in the
works).
Now
for this week’s post:
What I am sharing below the Scriptures is quite a departure from my
normal writing style—my thoughts are that it is Holy Spirit inspired. During my early morning prayer time on
September 19, 2017, the first few lines came to mind and would not go—I knew I had to sit down and write. As I wrote more and more came to me, that is
why I believe it is inspired. During the
process of typing my handwritten words, I did a bit of editing and adding of
words. My prayer is that what I wrote
from my heart will touch the hearts of others who read it.
My own daddy passed away before I was a year old and my mom did not
remarry, therefore, I have struggled at times with the idea of a father or a
daddy. In the last few years, I have
learned a bit through observation, talking with others, and from my own
experiences with my spiritual dad.
- For those of you who had a close relationship with your earthly dad what did you experience with him that helps you understand our Heavenly Daddy’s role in our lives?
- For those of you who did not have a close relationship with your earthly dad or perhaps like me did not have a dad to provide love, direction, support, and encouragement how do you find that experience in our Heavenly Daddy?
Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
(Psalm 10:14 KJV)
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. …. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah (Psalm 46:1, 11 KJV)
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. (Psalm 61:1-2 KJV)
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.(Psalm 68:5 KJV)
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
(Psalm 103:13 KJV)
The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
(Psalm 146:9 KJV)

Please join with me in prayer:
Dear Abba, Father, thank You for being the best example of who a daddy
should be and the characteristics he should exhibit. We know our earthly daddies are frail human
beings who many times fail to provide what we need as their children. Help us to not apply what our earthly dads
did or failed to do and thus negatively impact how we see You. You are the only one who is completely
trustworthy—we can run to You and find a love that is beyond all
description. Provide comfort to those
who deeply desperately need the comfort only a daddy can give—letting them
experience that love so deep, so indescribable, that it is truly beyond
words. Supply us with the necessary
words to share with others Your love, and to encourage them to run to their
Daddy to find what their hearts are longing for. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
From My Heart to Yours,
Kim
